About Me
I’ve always been the one people call when things feel messy — when the path forward isn’t clear and everyone’s looking for focus. I’ve learned that progress doesn’t come from having all the answers; it comes from creating the space to think, talk honestly, and move forward together.
That’s the heart of what I do.
I help organizations turn complexity into clarity — bringing structure, focus, and momentum so leaders can see the bigger picture and move forward with confidence.
My work is about people and process, not paperwork. Whether I’m facilitating a strategy session, guiding a leadership team, or helping an organization design for the future, I create environments where people think deeply, collaborate openly, and make decisions that stick.
My Story
I didn’t start out as a consultant — I started as an educator and helper. I’ve led within a national non-profit, co-founded and scaled a million-dollar marketing agency, and volunteered with more organizations and on more boards than I can count. Along the way, I’ve learned what it means to hold it all together — the people, the plans, and the expectations. And what happens, personally and professionally, when that balance tips too far.
There were times when I felt completely overwhelmed, when I didn’t know what the next right move was, or how to keep everything together. I’ve made mistakes, second-guessed decisions, and learned the hard way that clarity doesn’t arrive all at once. It’s built through tough conversations, honest reflection, and the courage to make decisions and move forward.
Those experiences have shaped the way I work today. I know the pressure of big decisions and competing priorities. I know what it’s like to navigate uncertainty while still being expected to lead with confidence. And I know the power of clarity — the calm that comes when direction finally feels clear and shared.
That’s what I help others find.
How I Work
I bring both head and heart to the table — evidence-based strategy mixed with empathy and practicality. I believe plans only matter when they inspire people to act, so I make sure the work feels real, energizing, and grounded in action.
For me, strategy isn’t something that lives in a binder; it lives in how people show up, collaborate, and stay accountable. Real progress happens when everyone’s engaged and every voice is part of the conversation.
And because I’ve been in the seat when things feel uncertain, I design my processes to make the complex feel doable — to help leaders breathe, reset, and move forward with confidence.
What I Care About
My purpose is to empower people through clarity and learning.
I want leaders and teams to leave our work not just with a plan, but with greater confidence, connection, and capability. With tools and processes they can carry forward long after our sessions end.
I’m at my best when the work has purpose, urgency, and impact — when the issues are complex, the conversations matter, and the outcomes move the needle for organizations and those they serve.
Experience Grounds My Work
I’ve had the privilege of leading organizations from many angles — as a CEO, a founder, a board chair, and now as a strategist and facilitator. Each chapter has shaped how I think about leadership, accountability, and what it really takes to move meaningful work forward.
Leading the PEI Division of the Canadian Cancer Society taught me how closely strategy, governance, and operations are connected. I understand the responsibility of reporting to a Board, managing budgets, aligning teams, and ensuring that plans translate into measurable outcomes. I also know the weight leaders carry when decisions affect people, communities, and mission. That experience continues to shape the steadiness and practicality I bring to my work.
Co-founding and growing a marketing agency from a two-person start-up into a million-dollar company gave me another perspective. I experienced firsthand what it takes to grow sustainably — hiring thoughtfully, navigating risk, adjusting strategy, and eventually transitioning the business. Plans need to function in busy organizations with competing priorities and real financial considerations.
Serving on boards and sector leadership tables across Atlantic Canada has deepened my appreciation for governance and collaboration.
I’ve seen how clarity strengthens trust between Boards and leadership teams, and how shared direction creates momentum. Those experiences help me hold both governance and operations in view at the same time.
My formal education also plays an important role in how I approach this work. With a Bachelor of Education and a Master’s in Adult Education focused on evaluation and knowledge exchange, I see strategy as a learning process. I’m always thinking about how people make meaning together and how knowledge becomes action.
Facilitation, for me, is about building capacity. It’s about helping leaders and teams think more clearly, ask stronger questions, and develop the confidence to navigate complexity long after the engagement ends. My hope is to leave organizations more aligned, more capable, and better equipped to lead themselves.
I’ve lived the complexity of leadership and understand the competing demands that come with it. I bring structure, perspective, and steady guidance, along with deep respect for the knowledge already in the room.
And from there, we build clarity together.
