Habitat for Humanity

Operational Planning, Strategic Planning

Habitat for Humanity manages a wide range of priorities across programs, partnerships, and operations. This work focused on helping both staff and Board sharpen focus and manage complexity.

The engagement included operational planning with the staff leadership team to develop clear annual and quarterly plans, alongside work with the Board to review and refresh strategic priorities. A key emphasis was on identifying the most important questions facing the organization and challenging both staff and Board to set clear, concrete priorities for the CEO.

The outcome was stronger alignment between strategy and operations, clearer leadership expectations, and a more focused framework to guide decision-making and delivery.

“The most impactful outcome of working together was having a clearly articulated output and deliverable that truly matched the expectations of the engagement. It was a no-nonsense process that stayed on timeline and consistently met both parties’ expectations.

Dawn brings a strong understanding of the non-profit sector — its unique needs, circumstances, and common challenges — and is able to weave that insight directly into engagement and process design. This understanding showed up clearly in the facilitation and overall approach.

For Habitat for Humanity PEI, one of the greatest strengths was the ability to navigate diverse conversations in a way that surfaced key insights and themes. The process created space for meaningful discussion while keeping the work focused and productive.”
