The Salvation Army
Multi-Year Operational Planning
The Salvation Army, Charlottetown delivers essential services in complex and often rapidly changing environments. Strategic focus was needed to ensure energy and resources were aligned with the greatest impact.
This multi-year operational planning process supported staff leadership in exploring purpose, reviewing current programming, and examining how well existing efforts aligned with mission and community needs. The work also created space for team dialogue, reflection, and connection, strengthening engagement across staff while exploring new opportunities and making deliberate choices about future priorities.
The outcome was a set of clear, strategic operational priorities that staff could rally behind, providing focus, alignment, stronger team cohesion, and a shared understanding of the organization’s direction.
“Working with Dawn experience was very comfortable. Discussions were easier working with someone who has worked at the same experience level and who has a solid knowledge of the ‘for’ and ‘not for’ profit world.
During sessions, Dawn was able to allow a flow of discussion and draw out individuals to speak when traditionally they would prefer to avoid doing so. Creating an honest space for discussion is a skill and Dawn has it.”
